It was a good day, I wish you were there

20.05.03 (00.40)

It's been one of those beautiful days, when everything is lovely and quite perfect and the weather is nice and the people are nicer, and you're not quite sure what you've done to deserve it all.

And to top it all off, I got good e-mails too, ones that made me smile and sigh contentedly (and a thank you note from a woman who's CD I bought, which is just really nice of her), and I'd reply to them, but I can't right now because all I really want to say is "Yay! I love you! I love me! I love the world! Yay!" and while that is certainly an up-lifting message to send to the world, it isn't very constructive as far as e-mails go, so I'll wait 'til tomorrow and see if maybe I'm more coherent then.

I had a driving lesson, and that was fun and I managed to do some stuff I've been sorta worried about doing, driving with a stick is hard, especially when you're supposed to start up in the middle of a hill... But it went reasonably well, and I'm really learning things, which is weird, because for the first time ever, I myself am able to see how much I progress with each lesson. I usually never think I'm good enough to do some things (because of a feeling that I don't know enough and will screw it up etc), but I trust my teacher (even if he does annoy me a little), and so when he tells me to do something, I do it. Mostly. I have some authority issues, it seems, as I'm always double-checking to see if he really meant what he said.

And then I went to the post office and sent off some letters, but that's not as important as the fact that while I was going there, I was listening to my iPod, and Summertime came on (the Sarah Harmer version), and that song is my all-time favorite summer song, just because of the whole feel of it. I like it much.

And then I went to my favorite coffee shop and I sat there for far too long, but it was OK, there weren't a lot of people in, so it's not like I was being annoying and occupying tables that were needed. Most everyone was outside, due to the lovely warm weather. But since I'm a freak who doesn't really like the sun all that much (since I burn so easily), I prefer to stay inside. So I did that, and looked at all the pretty people, while drinking my coffee and reading my book. Not doing as much reading as looking though, because it seems that the sun makes everyone beautiful.

And it was fun to watch, because there was one girl sitting against a tree, reading a book, making such a perfect picture. And there were some guys playing with a frisbee, having fun and rolling around on the ground, making me smile. And there were tourists walking around, and they were ever-so-lucky with the weather and are sure to say good things about the city. And then all the random people, and it seems that most everyone smiles when the sun is out, because I don't think I saw any grumpy people at all.

And then Grrr came to town after she finished work, and we had fun walking around and not doing much, I found a pretty bronze ankh I bought myself, but that's mostly it. And then TH was finished with work, so he came too, and we went back to the coffee shop and sat around for a few hours and just talked and talked about anything, and they made fun of me and I made fun of them and we made plans for my birthday on Wednesday, and it was all so lovely, it makes me smile just thinking about it.

And that's about all that happened. I wish you were there, it was a pretty day.

Music of the moment: A lot of songs beginning with M. (am listening to them alphabetically)
Favorite? oh the girl behind the counter at the coffee shop, she is ever so cute. and makes me smile
